Citizens Action for Manipur

The Situation

Unrelenting and unprecedented violence between communities in Manipur for 9 months with no sign of resolution

Response

There seems to be very little understanding or concern for the gravity of the tragedy that is unfolding in Manipur from other parts of India- be it cities, towns or villages.

The Implications

With little or no call for action from citizens at large there is no pressure on the Authorities or the conflicting parties to address the issue expeditiously as an urgent priority

The Plan

Provide a Platform for Citizens from across the country from a wide range of sectors to understand the scale of violence in Manipur, its implications and undertake a series of Campaigns and Actions for large scale mobilisation to call for redress and resolution of this festering problem in Manipur now.
